About Us
NC PALI was built by local Palestinians, born and raised in Raleigh, NC, alongside their Palestinian Allies.
Established in 2024.
According to World Population Review, there are almost 5,000 Palestinians in North Carolina. We plan to provide a safe space of belonging for the Palestinian community, its supporters, knowledge seekers, and allies
We are a 501 (3) (c) non-profit organization that is non-religious and apolitical serving the community and promoting the Palestinian culture and understanding. With a goal to bring back humanization to the Palestinians after years of dehumanization and ethnic cleansing.

Nadia Ali (Director)
Born in North Carolina, daughter of Palestinian immigrants, Nadia is a local activist in the Raleigh community. She was the original founder of the “Arab Club” at NC State University in the 90’s that is known today as the Arab Student Organization (ASO). She was also the secretary of the Carolina Palestinian Club before its dissolution. Nadia is dedicated to creating a safe space for the Palestinian community and those alike

Danyah Dahbour (Assistant Director)
Born in North Carolina, Danyah is an activist in the Raleigh community. Daughter to Palestinian immigrants, as a first-generation American, she plays a key role in organizing local Palestinian protests, providing commentary on social media and speaking in front of Raleigh City Council during public comments. Danyah continues to use her voice to amplify and educate on the Palestinian cause.

Alexis Kennedy (Director of Records)
Born in California, now a proud resident of Raleigh. Alexis is a devoted mother of three with a supportive husband. She also opens her home to foster animals. With a strong sense of community, Alexis has been involved in volunteer efforts such as disaster cleanup efforts and community development programs. Alexis holds the conviction that it's everyone’s responsibility to protect children—whether they are across the street or across the sea. Through her family, her service, and her compassion, she is dedicated to making her community—and the world—a better place.

Katherine Scoggins (Director of Finance)
Born in North Carolina, Katherine is an activist and community organizer focused on collective liberation. She is the Co-Chair of distribution for a local organization, Meals for the Masses, who serves weekly free meals and essentials to those in need. Katherine is dedicated to tying back the struggles in Palestine and the Global South to the struggles of our most marginalized and overlooked neighbors here in Raleigh. Her life motto is "throw shoes, not shade."

Julia Owen (Co-Founder)
Since immersing herself within the Raleigh community, Julia become active member in the Palestinian community. She has partaken in almost every protest and event since the inception of the movement in Raleigh. Julia has found herself to be an advocate for Palestinians in a plethora of ways, she is a part of the Mothers for Ceasefire organization, spent time on the UNC encampment and openly speaks out on social media to shed light on the indiscriminate atrocities taking place in Palestine.
